A few months ago we went to an exhibit on the phenomenon being called Banji Cunt. In short, there's a belief that the younger generation of New York's LGBT population expresses its homosexuality with outward signs and cultural trappings lifted from hip-hop culture while imprinting it with a distinctly Gay/effeminate stamp. The exhibit (by Rashaad Newsome) attempted to explore the disconnect it perceives between today's generation and older generations of members of New York's mostly African-American and Latino voguing/Gay ballroom culture.
